I recurate and reprocess legacy collections.

​I work with both the Curator and the Site Files Manager to process project reports, site forms, and artifacts from archaeological work done in the state.

I detail match site forms and project reports to ensure all information is correct.

I process and (if needed) correct incoming archaeological collections to ensure they are properly labeled and stored.

Museum Intern

McKissick Museum

May - August 2017

​

I revised the script and installed the exhibition Nostalgia for Nature.

I photographed and updated artifact catalog entries and prepared entries for McKissick's online catalog.

I helped to install and/or deinstall four different exhibits: Black Medicine, White Bodies; Scenic Impressions; Well Suited; and Nostalgia for Nature.

 

 

Volunteer Lab Technician

I worked in the wet lab cleaning prehistoric lithic and ceramic artifacts. 

I learned and executed proper non-permanent labeling techniques for artifacts.

I gained experience in digitization and digital color correcting of slide collections.

 

 

Junior Curator Internship

​I learned the daily requirements of a curator in a small museum.

Along with three other students, I helped research and create an exhibition from start to finish.

I gained insight on the relationships between museum staff and outside contractors in exhibition planning.
